Indulge yourself with wonderful Cantonese and Chinese cuisines of Congee town near Woodside Square. The chef at this restaurant cooks tasty congee, pork roast and fried prawns. As their name entails, the bowls of savoury congee are the main attractions here, but their menu offers much more than congee, including unique lunch options accompanied by a free hot drink. You can try all the tasty food at an affordable price. A favourite dish is stir-fried Vietnamese-style diced beef, which looks simple but is incredibly tasty. Beef is flavoured with fish sauce and decked out with broccoli and cashews.
You can’t have congee without something to dip into it, so an order of crispy deep-fried dough fritters makes the perfect accompaniment. You can also order the sweet cruller, which comes in a round shape and has a thicker texture. If you’re looking for an authentic flavour, try the Lai Wan congee, a popular congee style in China that consists of pork rinds, seafood, lots of peanuts and a sprinkle of chopped green onions. Trying their award-winning Hong Kong-style tea hot or cold, which comes sweetened, is a must. Try the shrimp and chive rice noodle roll for a small appetizer, which tastes best doused in sweetened soy sauce.
