Located in the Financial District’s heart near Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, Locale Mercatto is an escape from bustling Bay Street through Italian-inspired fare, classic cocktails and hand-selected wine pairings. The indoor seems bright and airy; the space has massive street-facing windows, red and white subway tiles, and a long bar overlooking the prep kitchen. While the food here isn’t cheap, it won’t break the bank either. The menu features fresh fish and meat dishes, though there’s still pasta on the menu. There’s also a separate take-out counter with its own menu.
The shareable appetizers, or small plates, include meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Try the seafood sott’olio with lobster, octopus and shrimp, as well as bread topped with creamy saffron aioli. While those dishes are great for groups, you won’t want to share the Cappellacci, a made-in-house pasta pocket, each comes stuffed with duck, and the whole dish comes topped with honey mushrooms and a truffle sugo. To wash everything down, Locale has an extensive wine menu as well as an excellent selection of beer on tap. There are plenty of bottles to choose from as well.

Noodle King is located in the PATH’s nether regions in a small food court under the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. The restaurant specializes in Chinese noodle soups, and here you can try tasty broth (chicken, spicy beef, vegetable), meat (pork or shrimp wontons, BBQ pork, brisket, etc.) and noodles (egg, vermicelli, flat rice noodles). This spot is suitable for people who have a snack on the go as they can order food as a takeaway. The friendly staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. This restaurant is notable for its good service.
Noodle King has the best Asian comfort food you can find in the area, and their wonton is something that everyone dies for. The pork wontons are enormous and juicy, packed with lots of flavours. The wonton wrapper is a bit thicker than regular wrappers, but it merely helps keep the flavour packed in. You get five of these in the dish, and it also comes with two stalks of bok choy and one stalk of broccoli, along with your choice of noodles and broth. The prices are also quite reasonable, so it’s cheaper than most food courts nearby. Noodle King is a little bit hard to find for first-timers, so if you have trouble finding the place, just follow the long lineups in this area around lunchtime.

Osgoode Hall Restaurant is one of the best places for lunch near Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. It is located on the 2nd floor of Osgoode Hall building, and you need to go through the security scan to access the restaurant. The restaurant offers a daily Prix-Fixe Menu in addition to a la carte items. Both menus include a mouth-watering selection of soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees, made up of local, seasonal ingredients. The menu changes daily depending on what’s fresh and in season at Ontario’s local farms. Run by the Law Society’s food and beverage services, the room is filled with old books, opulent chandeliers and stained-glass windows that are younger than they look (they’re from the late 1980s).
Most of the time, you will see lawyers and judges commuting here to have a bit of fancy lunch. For the main course, try the Curry Chicken, with free-range meat from Cumbrae’s, basmati rice, cashews and coriander yogurt. The chicken is moist and tender, and the chickpeas, carrots and tomatoes make the dish a comforting and hearty meal for winter. For dessert, the butter tart with house-made vanilla ice cream is an enduring favourite. The restaurant has used the same recipe since the ’60s. Overall, this is definitely an out-of-the-ordinary place to go for lunch and impress a dining companion if you’re ever in the area. Just make sure you’re on your best behaviour, you never know who might be sitting nearby!
