Three Ozery brothers, who have grown up having Middle Eastern food and Sesame butter their whole life, decided to open Parallel to share their special experience with Canadians. Parallel is located on Geary Street, not far from Lansdowne Station, so you can sit on the patio, inside, do takeaway, or order a delivery.
Parallel has a casual, industrial feel, but it is comfortable with a lot of natural light. It is so sweet that they grow their herbs which creates a beautiful view. The servers answer all questions about portion sizes, ingredients and help with choosing the proper meal.
Parallel is ideal for a group of friends or a family night out, but still a good choice for a date night. They have great vegan, vegetarian options; it is safe to say Parallel is an excellent choice for those with special dietary needs. It can get a little noisy so try to get a seat on the main floor or make a reservation if you want to have a peaceful experience.
Their signature dishes are Falafel, Shakshuka, and Hummus. The Aries is a pita with ground lamb and beef baked together; all the meat juice and flavour are immersed in the bread, which comes nice and juicy. Their chocolate cookie with ice cream is very popular but try their Halva first. You won’t be disappointed with the taste!
