Located at 1190 Victoria Dr, Vancouver, Via Tevere Pizzeria is an authentic Neapolitan pizza restaurant in the middle of a residential area. Pizza Napoletana is lauded for its rustic simplicity, traditional wood-fire cooking method, and Neapolitan ingredients celebration. Their goal is to honour this heritage and pizza-making tradition by serving up la vera pizza Napoletana.
Neapolitan pizza will have minimal toppings for a balance of flavour, and the crust is expected to be lightly charred, slightly chewy, and soft in the center. In true Neapolitan style, their pizzas are brought to the table uncut and can be enjoyed with a knife and fork or by hand.
The exterior of Via Tevere Pizzeria Napoletana looks very low-key, and the interior space is straightforward. There is a central hearth in the middle with the oven, a small bar to the left of the entrance, and seating. If it’s your first visit, you’d better go with the Neapolitan Margherita Pizza with Salame (Red sauce-based pizza topped with tomato, fior di latte, prosciutto cotto, salame, and basil). If you see the process of making pizza as the merging of art and science, then Margherita is at Neapolitan pizza’s purest form. Every ingredient is fresh. The acidity of tomato sauce lays the base of a good pizza. It’s not overly sour to dominate other ingredients, but it’s a taste that’s always there to give the different flavours a lift. Don’t miss this Pizza.

Located on 654 E Broadway, Vancouver, Barbarella is one of the best Pizzerias in the city, serving wonderful Italian cuisine, especially Neapolitan Pizza. You can have a good time at this place and share nicely cooked Hawaiian pizza, Caesar salads and pies with your friends or get takeout. Start with the Amatriciana pizza consisting of tomato, fior di latte, aged mozzarella, house-cured and smoked pancetta, red onions, fresh garlic, chilli flakes, Parmigiano Reggiano and extra virgin olive oil. There are also noticeable pieces of pancetta on top which add plenty of savouriness to the pizza.
The second favourite pizza is the Salsiccia consisting of tomato, fior di latte, aged mozzarella, house-made fennel sausage, pickled peppers, basil, Parmigiano Reggiano and extra virgin olive oil. The pickled peppers add a zing which really adds to the mild-tasting tomato sauce. The next pizza is the Diavola with tomato, fior di latte, aged mozzarella, spicy salami, Nicoise olives and extra virgin olive oil. It may of looks like a pepperoni pizza, but it certainly is not. The spicy salami lives up to its namesake while the olives add another burst of flavour.

Pizzeria Farina is a cozy Neapolitan Pizza shop on Main Street in Chinatown, Vancouver, BC. It looks like a modern, almost Scandinavian café with white painted brick walls, a menu written on parchment paper suspended from the ceiling and seating that’s a mix of one long communal table and a few smaller ones with high stools. You can eat in or take out, and either way is very delicious. The thin, chewy, yet pillow-like crust is the perfect bed for the ingredients of your choice. They offer a handful of different pizzas, with add-on options like fresh arugula for a nice peppery finish, while olives and anchovies add a certain saltiness.
The pizza dough itself goes through a three-day ferment, and once cooked, is thin, crispy, and blistered in all the right places. Whether you choose to stick to a classic Margharita or go all out and devour the Finocchionna, you won’t go wrong here. Don’t forget to use the spicy and rosemary olive oil that’s tableside. It is the perfect accompaniment to drizzle over your pizza.
Go for the Funghi and Finocchionna. Funghi comes with a chewy well-flavoured dough, the perfect char and great toppings of earthy mushroom, velvety cheese and peppery arugula. It’s one of the rare mushroom pizzas that is not drenched in truffle oil. The latter is on a thin crispy crust that offers a different taste, fresh tomatoes, fennel sausages and the sharp Piave cheese.

Step inside and order the Trastevere, simple meat and cheese pizza with pancetta, mozzarella, and pecorino. This is a pizza where the ingredients are well balanced. The meat isn’t too salty, nor does it overpower the base, and indeed the crust is the favourite part of it. The next pizza is the The “Caprese,” which is like the salad but over pizza crust. This pizza is served cold with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar to finish it off.

Enjoy their Italian – Neapolitan pizza with its thin base and plentiful crust. There are many of the latter, but you have a great drizzle to dip the excess bread into utilizing the smoked olive oil. Each pie is personal-sized, with four large slices. For its size, one might consider the $19-22 price point a little steep, but the quality and well-thought-out combinations are well worth the tag. Their “Spicy coconut kale” pizza is a must and comprises coconut cream, kale, peanut satay marinated mushrooms, fior di latte, coconut flakes, and chilli oil. The satay flavour is delicious, and the mushroom gives you some chewy substance, meaty for fungi.
